The Lovette Philosophy Behind Our Formulas
Share
What we put on our skin matters more than most people realise.
Our skin isn’t just a surface. It’s a living, active barrier that interacts with everything we apply to it. While some ingredients simply sit on the skin, others can be absorbed and interact with our bodies natural processes. Over time, that daily exposure adds up.
Which is why the ingredients we use and the ones we choose to avoid matter.
When I began researching skincare ingredients in the 'cleaner' products years ago, long before Lovette existed, I realised something important - things are not what they seem. But I also realised I didn’t want complicated skincare so it made me to start naturally stepping away from the marketing gimmick.
I wanted beautiful, simple formulas made from ingredients that perform & that are actually good for us. This philosophy has became the foundation of Lovette Heritage.
So what 'clean' actually means here at Lovette Heritage is a non-negotiable. 'Clean beauty' has become a popular phrase in skincare but often it’s more marketing than reality. Many products labelled clean still contain synthetic fragrance, fillers or inexpensive oils that offer little benefit to the skin. And can often cause more harm than good.
Lovette takes a different approach.
Our formulas are genuinely simple built around whole organic botanical ingredients chosen for how they support & nourish the skin & hair. Not marketing clean. Ingredient clean. Therefore, actually clean.
Three things you will never find in Lovette. There are a few things I simply refuse to formulate with & never will.
Synthetic fragrance
Many skincare perfumes are complex chemical blends designed purely for scent. Lovette instead uses botanical aromatics of rose, vanilla, beeswax absolute plus more, so that scent becomes a part of the ritual rather than an irritant or a hormone disruptor. More synergistic & holistic in use.
Cheap seed oils
Many products rely on inexpensive industrial seed oils that oxidise quickly and offer little nourishment to the skin. Lovette focuses on stable, nutrient-rich oils like jojoba, camellia and rosehip amongst others.
Overly complicated formulas
The skin does not need dozens of ingredients to thrive or just so we can slap a giant price tag on our products. Appealing to the 'more is better' theory, more like a massive overload & therefore a waste.
Lovette formulas stay intentionally minimal allowing each ingredient to truly shine. Supporting the skin & hair in a harmonious way.
And that is why I formulate simply. Nature already has created extraordinary ingredients. We are just simply marrying them together.
Jojoba mirrors our skin’s natural oils. Rose soothes and hydrates. Seabuckthorn supports skin repair. Coconut oil is the only oil to actually penetrate the hair shaft. I could go on about each of our special botanicals ...
Lovette is all about researching & about bringing these ingredients together thoughtfully. No trends. No unnecessary extras. Just beautiful botanical care.
With our beautiful products I love to indulge in using them daily, sometimes multiple times. Here is a small ritual I return to often, my favourite simple Lovette ritual lately is to:
Mist Sweet Rosa Water onto the decolletage, through the hair & spritz clothing
Then roll Sweet Rosa Multi-Sol Oil gently into my palms. Cupping my face, I take in a deep slow breath.
Rubbing my hands together slowly to disperse the oils. I then glide the oil through my hair & rubbing any excess into my cuticles.
A small moment of whole-being care, for my hair, skin and nervous system. It always makes me feel relaxed, nourished & protected.
Let me know if you try it!
With love always
Kelly
